Fast Ball Team for Bandon
(Recorder)
Bandon will probably have the
fastest base base ball team this year
in the history ot the city, at least
present indications bid fair for a
classy team We have some mighty
good material to work from and in
Temp Osborn, the new pitcher who
is well known in base ball circles of
the Northwest, we certainly have a
wonder. Osborn will be one of the
twirlers for the Bandon team this
summer and will be sure to give a
good accouut of himself.
In all probability there will be a
county league again this year and
Bandon base ball fans are in favor
of Saturday and Sunday games and
will work to this end. There are
many people who like to see
a ball game
but who have
spruples against going to Sunday
games, consequently it is hoped
that both Saturday and Sunday
gay games can be arranged for.
A good base ball team is a mighty
good advertisement for a town and
Bandon will sure have a winner
this year. Let everybody get in
and boost for the ball team.

SCHOONER ADVENT A
WRECK AT COOS BAY
Tries to Sail in and Lays Her
Bones in Julia Ray Cove
Near Coos Head
The Schooner Advent of the
Simpson Lumber Co’s fleet of wind
jammers was wrecked at the en
trance to Coos Bay last Tuesday
and Wednesday. The crew escaped
in safety, except that one John
Sondstrora was injured in the leg
from being struck by a boom. The
vossel sailed in, but after she crossed
the bar the wind died down and she
commenced to drift to the rocks on
the south side. The anchors were
dropped, and held, and the crew
then left the vessel. She hung on
until the Wednesday morning, when
she went ashore in tbs same spot
where the Julia Ray and other ves
sels have laid their bones In the
absence of a tug several gasoline
boats tried to render assistance but
could do nothing. Sooner after
going ashore the vessel began to
break up, and sne adds one more to
the list of ships to find destruction
at the same point.

group was photographed, in which
four generations were represented,
the great-grandson being Master

These photos will in future be held
