OLR MOTIVE
Law is the supreme power in a
state commanding what is right aDd
prohibiting what is wrong, yet the
law seems of but little avail in some
criminal matters. Illicit intercourse
by married couples cannot be pros
ecuted unless complaint ¡-»’ made by
either the husband or wife o f the
party wronged.
Rather than do
this they sutler the humiliation and
shame their wayward partners have
caused and two unhappy homes are
the result. Society likewise sutlers
from the existence of these contam
inating influences- Adultery is a
crime that should not go unpun
ished and (or the well being of the
marital relations officers o: the law
should be giveu full power and
authority to prosecute as they
wcu.d a robber or a horse thiet.
