Coquilie brought home another
easy victory from the Bay, defeat
ing Marshfield to the tune of 11 to
3 . The colts had them outclassed
iu every department o f the game—
not once were they given a chance
to win. Coquilie collected 13 bin-
gles off Sutton while Marshfield
made 7 off Collier. One stolen base
off Byles was Slim’s record for the
game.
Johnson started the fitewotks by
fanning the ozone, Lorenz was out
on a grounder, Byles on an infield
fly.
Marshfield started in like a win
ner, as Cowan was passed to first
on "D u d ’ s” fumble; Woods laid
down a pretty sacrifice; Cowan stole
third but was morgued trying for
home and landers failed to touch
the pill.
Marshfield
presented Coquilie
with three ruus in the second in
ning when J. Collier sailed one out
of the lot; Howell took the initial
bag on a fielder’s choice; J. Collier
scored on Briggs’ error; Oerding
and C. Collier were retired on pop
ilies; C. Collier slammed a double
scoring J. Collier and Howell; Prey
mushed first on Burke’s error, stole,
and A Collier started home; John-
sotff was retired at first.
Iu the lourth Oerding attempted
to stretch a single— was nailed on
second; C. Collier pasted the pill
for a sack; A. Collier died on a fly
to Woods; C. Collier reached sec
ond on W oods’ wild throw; Prey
singled, advanced "K lin g " to third;
Johnson tapped the nut scoring C.
Collier and Prey; Lorenz was ousted
at first.
The sixth was a merry-go-round
without music— ten men at bat in
the inning and every man hit the
ball. Oerding was benched on an
infield fly; C. Collier cliffed a two-
bagger; A. Collier singled; Prey hit
a fast roller straight to short, but
•Butke didn't field it properly and
C. Collier rambled home; Johnson
singled and the cushions were again
intoxicated; Lorenz touched first on
a fielder’a choice; Johnson called
safe on second; Byles was given the
first sack on another fielder’s choice;
J. Collier took a pass to first and
Lorenz touched the keystone on
Burke’ s error; ‘‘ Nick’’ was canned
on second; "Eildad” ambulated to
first and Oerding was retired on a
pop fly.
Landers walked in the seventh,
mushed second on "N ick ’ s” error;
McCutcheon was benched on a fly
to right; Langworthy touched the
first cushion on "K ing’s” fumble
and Landers scored. Burke fanned;
Briggs hit scoting Laugworthy;
Hennessy was winged on an easy
roller to first.
In the eighth Johnson hit; Lor
enz swung for an extra base, John
son scoring; Byles was ditched on a
grounder; J, Collins sacrificed and
Howell died on an infield fly.
