BASKET BALL WITH OUR NEIGHBORS Bandon-Csquille The baskot ball game held at Bandon Friday evening, Januar) 5 , between the Bandon boys and girls and the Coquille hoys and girls was a most interesting one, the score being 20 to 12 in favor of the Coquille boys. The Bandon girls won out over the Coquille girls 27 to 1, and while extending congratulations to our neighboring girls it must be remombered that the Coquille girls are younger tban the competing team and shorter in stature, and though they put up a valiant fight, they are physically unable to cope with their antagon ists. However, the pluck of the Coquille girl is undaunted and we predict that the time is not far off when she will be wearing the vic tor’s crown. Myrtle Point-Coquille The game between the Myrtle Point Firemen and the Coquille Firemen Saturday evening, Janu ary G was somewhat postponed, the Myrtle Point team failing to arrive before ten o’clock as the boat groan ing beoeath its sturdy weight re fused to stand the pressure and consequently the valiant fire fight ers were obliged to proceed by team. ¡However, the game was played with a 20 to 12 score in favor of Myrtle Point. The Mutts and Jeffs, tbinklug probably that they could not play up to the pictures represented on the placards dis tributed throughout the city, failed to show up so that interesting fea ture of the performance cannot be recorded. Marshfield-Coquiile A game of basket ball will be played Friday evening, January 12 , at the Masonic Hall, between the Marshfield High school boys and tho Coquille High school boys. The contest will be through in time for those wishing to attend the Leap Year Ball at the Heazlett Theatre. LOOK WHO’S COMING SAD TRAGEDY IN COQUILLE ^Crescent Ranges^ Reliable-Renowned W. R.
