Walter Sinclair,
Seattle, May 3.— Enough en
tries have been promised to insure
the complete success of the live
Stock Show of the Alaska-Yukon-
Pacific Exposition, and the affair
will be the most important gather
ing of prize animals ever held in
the West. The event will be held
on the exposition grounds from
September 27th to October 9th in
clusive.
A widespread interest has been
created among breeders and deal
ers throughout the entire United
States and Canada, and several for
eign associations are negotiating
with the intention of sending a
nnmber of prize winners across the
ocean.
The Canadian Government ha3
appropriated $1,500
for trans
portation expenses, and this will
be utilized by the Cattle Breeders
Association of Manitoba in sending
several car loads of stock to Seattle.
The value of live stock exhibits on
the Pacific Coast lias been thorough
ly demonstrated by the success
following the live stock show in
Portland in 1905, and since that
time, the western sales of two stock
associations in the east have total
led over $1,000.000.
The weet and Northwest are to
day considered as the most promis
ing fields for high class stock
development, and this fact has been
generally recognised by breeders.
The exposition appropriation of
prize money and premiums is
liberal, and this has been in
creased by offerings of individual
breeders and dealers to the extent
of $10,000.
The official catalogue of the Live
Stock Show will be ready for dis
tribution early
in May, and
this
will
include
all neces
sary information regarding the
entries, classification and awards.
Constructions work on sheds, stalls,
paddocks and yards will be com
pleted long before the opening
exhibit.
These will be open to
exhibitors ten days before the show
opens.
In the special features introduced
into the Live Stock Show, none
but new departures will be followed.
It is the intention of the manage
ment to make this department as
valuable as can be done, and in
doing this, expense and work have
been a secondary consideration.
