The principal topic of conversa tion among the music lovers of Co quille, for the past week, is the com ing of the ever popular comic opera Pinafore, that ia iD course of prepar ation aDd which is to be presented in the Masonic Opera House, two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 9 and 10. For the past two weeks most of the leading sing ers of town have been training un der the direction of Mr. Martin E. Robinson and the result of this drill will be a surprise to all who attend the opera. Pinafore is acknowl edged to be one of the most popu lar operas ever written, and when ever it is presented by professionals or amateurs it is always pleasing. The music is bright and tuneful, the dialogue pleasing and the scenery and costumes, especially prepared to represent the quarter deck of the old man-of-war, an English sailing vessel before the time of the modern ironclads, all help to make the opera one of the best of Gilbert and Sullivan’s com positions. f The cast has been carefully se lected and trained in their various parts till they are better perfect aDd those who do not attend Pinafore one or both evenings will miss the best entertainment ever giveD by our local singers. The following is the cast of characters. The Right Hon. Sir Joseph Porter K.C. B. First Lord of Admiralty,J. A. Lamb; Capt Corcorun, commanding H. M. S. Pinafore, H.
