Mrs. Emil Ogren received Satur
day a package of nugget jewelry
from her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jo
seph E. Fox, who own a valuable
mining claim near Deering, Alaska.
Ihe various articles, which included
necklace, watch chain, bracelets, etc.,
are made of gold nuggets, and are
unique and very attractive, to say
nothing at all of their intrinsic val
ue. Among the presents was a beau
tiful scarf pin, with tho compliments
of Jos. E. Fox to G, A. Aennett, and
to say that we were delighted by
the kind remembrance would hardly
do the matter justice'. Mr. Fox and
two sons had been working the claim
this summer, which is very rich,
Mrs. Fox having, herself, rocked out
$82 of coarse gol J in two hours one
day recently, and no pan of dirt
from the pav streak has yielded less
than $5. The great drawback, how
ever, is want of water.
A rich cor
poration owns the claims all around
them and controls the water supply.
They had been buying water for
mining purposes, but were notified
lately that they would be furnished
with no more. It looks like a freeze-
out game by the corporation, which
realizes the wealth of their claim,
and knowing it is worthless with
out water, they probably hope to
buy ¡4 for comparatively nothing.
The many old-time friends of the
family here extend their best wishes,
and hope that arrangements will
be made by which their interests
will not suffer.
They have spent
several years in that bleak north
ern region, and when fortune finally
smiled on them it would be too bad
to deprive them of the reward to
which they are justly entitled.—
Coos Bay Sews.
When Manager Geo. O. Leach
booked Gorman’s All Star Comedy
and Vaudeville Ci mpany, he assur
ed his patrons a treat of the senson.
Everything about this company is
high class and up to date. Come
dians that are comedians, and not
has been’s or would he’s; that are
singers, dancers, the best in their
line, aud preformers that are known
for their ability to act. This high
class company will present the
langhing comedy success “ Who is
Who?”
The only serious thing
about this side-splitting furce is to
figure how to get a ¡few momenta’
ease from hard laughter.
Every
where from the Atlantic to the Paci
fic coast it has been a great success,
and prononneed by all one of the
futMiiest of ull funny comrdies.
Besides this roaring comedy there
are Seven All Star Vaudeville Acts.
These acts have been played in all
the leading Vaudeville circuits of
the East and West. In this great
array of talent are Alexis, the
worlds’ greatest Spanish dancer,
pronounced by President Dias ot
Mexico as the greatest dancer that
ever visited Mexico. Eddie Lang,
the Dutch comedian, singer and
dancer. “ Enough said.” O ’Day and
Gold. A high class sketch artists
assisted by Miss Bates in their lat
est comedy playlot success entitled
“ The Man,”
Harold Yates, the
Minstrel Man in monologue singing,
danciDg and whistling.
He is
known as Eirperor Yates of the
Fun Trust. As a whistler he has
few equals. Jack Keys, the ladies
favorite, will render all the latest
song hits of the day. Blanchfield
& Fisher, comedians in their.humor-
ous act,

Dutchman.” Nothing but fun and
