According to Thursday’s Times,
“ Major’’ L. D. Kinney and some
others are going to build a railroad
from Coos bay to Boise, Idaho. Ar
ticles of incorporation of the Pacific
Coast Broadway Railway Company,
a $50,000,000 corporation, have been
filed with the Secretary of State at
Salem. The incorporators are C.
A. Sehlbrede, J. F. Pulley, G. F.
Averill, C. A. Motlin, II. J. Kinney,
L. D. Kinney and J. B. Milne. The
capital stock of the company is di-
vided into 500,000 shares of the par
value of $100 each, and the railroad
might bo evea a double track affair.

A plan to build an automobile
road between Coos bay and Rose
burg, and to operate a line of autos
over it, has been launched by Mr.
Crow, representing a Los Angeles
syndicate which owns and operates
several auto transportation compan
ies in Nevada, says the Times. Mr.
Crow has a surveying party going
over the road now. He figures that
the road can be put in good shape
for a comparatively nominal sum,
making it passable for autos the
year round. He also figures that
he can fix it so that a minimum
speed of 20 miles per hour can be
maintained over it. The matter has
been taken up with the Marshfield
and Roseburg chambers of com
merce, nnd it is hoped to get the
improvement made so that the line
can be started this fall. It is pro
posed to put a portable sawmill on
the job, cutting down the timber
along the right of way and plank
ing wherever necessary.

eight miles o f the distance has been
