father Joseph G. Wright,

May of last year he received a par-
alysis stroke which left him almost
aD invalid and in the afternoon of
March the 20th this year he suffer-
ed another stroke from which he
died a few hours later.
Granpa Wright as he wan famil
iarlv known was one of Oregon’s
old and respected pioneers having
come here in the year 1870, and will
be well remembered by many old
friends in Coos county, Curry and
and Douglas counties.
He was born in Laport county Ind.
May the 16th, 1832, and was there
fore seventy-five years ten months
aod four days, at the time o f his
death.
Grandpa Wright had been a de
vout Christian for over forty years
and was esteemed and honored by
all who knew him. He was a lov
ing husband, kind father nnd a
good neighbor; he leaves a sor
rowing wife, two daughters and
five sons, besides a large cumber
of grandchildren and great grand
children.

Elton Tyrrell, the Arago dary-
man, was in town a day or so the
last o f the week. He is suffering
from a very sore hand, the member

in a slight injury. He is not suffer
ing as scverly as he was, but he has

J. R. Morrison who has been here
