power plant as this company ex
pects to develop would be hard to
oompreheud, at the same time any
one can see at a glance that its sig
nificance is for reaching and the de
velopments it will bring about will
be innumerable.
The projectors are local people
who have formed a corporation
with the following named as its
officers: E. F. Davenport, Pres.;
C. C. Carter, Vice Pres.; B. E. Hen
dricks, Sec,: Directors, J. R. Ben-
sou, C. C. Cartor, E. F. Davenport,
B. F. Henderson and D. H. John
son. Preliminary work is now in
progress on the immense water
power plant which is to be estab
lished at the N. Harry place on the
East Fork. All surveys havo been
made and this plant will not cost
nearly as much as the average plant,
in accordance to the amount of pow.
er developed.
The capital stock of the corpora
tion is $50,000, divided into shares
of ¥100 each, a considerable quanti
ty which has been taken.
Figures show that at least 3,000
horsepower can be developed, and
it is thought that it will be possi
ble to reach 4,000. horsepower.
The water is to be piped a distance
5,000 feet from the reservoir which
will be the source of supply to the
power station, at which point it will
have a fall of 300 feet. The Power
will be transmitted from the power
station to Myrtle Point, Coquille
Marshfield, North Bend and Bandon
by electrecity, thus giving these
towns the advantage of a 24-hours-
a-day power service that will do
more to develop manufacturing in
dustries than anything that could
be introduced. Only a limited
amount of stock will be sold, but
that is going rapidly at par.
