C. J. McLean, late of Portland hay ing purchased the interests of Dave Perkins. H. G. Stratton, of Port land and F. A. Smith, of St. Johns, will also become interested, and a corporation is being formed with a capital stock of $50,000. There are certain improvements contemplated that, when carried out, will give this route a line of steamers of which we may feel proud and the traveling public will greatly appre ciate. New boilers will be ordered for the DispUch and Liberty, which will greatly increas their speed, and the one in the Liberty, which is new will be used in a new hull in which the engine of the Antelope will be installed. This will give them a fleet of five steamers, all in first- class condition. It is said thut Mayor Schmitz, of San Francisco, has remarked that he will be more careful in the future of the company he keeps. It begins to look to us as though he may not have the choosing of his company for the next five years, nor even the cut or stripe of the clothes he wears. Tbs Coos County Fair Association is being organize.) for the purpose holdiDg a fair each year in thie val ley. The Arago gerunds and track have heen leaned for a period of five years. We will he able to give a good report next week. County Court Proceedings. Schedule of E ip aa rn Allowed by the County Court July, 1907, T on » Expenses in vacation after April, 1907, term.
