li gia wood, lined with velvet end covered with white satin, the lid being painted in gold an I bearing the United States coat-of-arms Twenty-two ounces of the vergiu metal have been placed in the plate and every ounce of the material used in both plate and case is the product of Georgia soil. All the delicate workmanship required to produce it, has come from the hands of Georgia workmen. Just what the President will do with the plate when it arrives at the White House is not known. Probably it will be placed in the cabinet where similar articles are now on view and later ou will be sent to the National M use- um to form a part of the “ Roose velt Gifts” which will some day oc cupy a spaco alongside the gifts pre sented to other presidents.
