7 WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 1906. Washington, June 21.— Plans to 1< gin immediate criminal prosecu tions against officials of the Standard Oil Company for violations of the Knot-man anti-trust law and prose cution against Standard Oil officials and high officials of railroads for violations of the Elking anti-rebate law, have been completed by the Administration, according to infor mation from a high authority to night. These plans, it is understood, were considered at a mysterious meeting of five Cabinet officers at the White House last night which aroused much speculation in all circles today. It is said To have been the intention to keep the mat ter secret for a few days until the Department of Justice was ready to strike the initial blow. Wall street, however, which seems to get information from every con ceivable source, even when the secret is supposed to be confined to the President and his confidential advisers, got a “ tip” today that Standard Oil and the railroads were in for new trouble, and on the strength of this stock tumbled lieports from New York tonight say that Washington already has heard of the “ leak” and that steps lmd been taken to locate it. A person of high authority de clares that the Department of Jus tice, as a result of investigations conducted prior to and since the Garfield report, that enough evi ilence on hand to insure the convic tion of high Standard Oil and rail road officials under both lews under which prosecutions are to be made Sunday’s Game. On Sunday a match game of base ball w s b played between a select nine of the Coquille business men and a nine composed of Bandon’s business men, which was won by the home toam, 7 to 8. The game was exciting all the way through and highly enjoyed by the large orowd. The steamer Dispatch brought up quite a number of Ban donians, ant excellent music was furnished by the Bandon Cornet Band and the Fire Department Band of this place.
