Marsters and two younger children left Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Menters’ brother’s ranch several miles beyond Broadbent. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Whitaker left Sunday morning for Lakeside and re turned on the afternoon train with their son, James, who has been at tending the yniversity of Oregon. Miss Nellie Barton and her neice, Marjorie Stemmier, left Sunday morn ing for Othello, Washington, to spend the summer with Mlsb Barton’s par ents. They intended spending two days in Portland and visiting several other towns before going to Othello. Mrs. Tom Guerin, who has been at tending the Grand Assembly of the Eastern Star L^dge and also the Rose Carnival in Portland, returned home Tuesday evening. Mrs. Cecil Carter went to CoquOle last Friday to be with her sister, Mrs. Belle Willard, who is quite sick. She returned home Sunday evening. Lyle Nosier motored to Portland Wednesday to attend the State Edi torial Christian Endeavor convention. Rev. Ernest Root arrived home Wednesday evening from Chicago, whore he has been attending college this last winter. t Ellis Widby, who has been in the Tuberculosis Farm near Salem since last fall, returned home Wedneeday. He is very much improved in health. Mr. and Mrs. Johh Barklow and two children, who have been at Klamath Falls for some time, returned home Wednesday. Miss Kathleen Marsten went to her uncle’s ranch beyond Broadbent Sun day. Miss Vivien Annin, who has been attending the Willamette University, | returned home Sunday, having spent a few days in Portland visiting friends and attending the Rose Festival be fore returning home. Miss Carmel Marsters, who has been in Coquille working, returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. King and Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Arnold left Saturday for The Dalles to attend the encamp ment of the G. A. R. Mr. and Mrs. King expect to stay in Portland a few days to visit their daughter, while Mr. and Mrs. Arnold will go to Yaki ma to visit their daughter. Monday morning T. M. Hermann and H. H. Brunson left for the encampment. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sigsby are the proud and happy parents of a seven pound boy born Monday morning.
