Region of International Toast-
mistress organisation met in the
Cedar room of the Coquille hotel
¿unday afternoon w ith menjbers
from Reedsport, Coquille, Coos
Bay and Florence attending.
The program was opened by
Mrs. Elinor Gremsgard, who gave
the invocation. The welcome to
the meeting was given by Mrs.
Bernice Moltbu, president of the
Coquille group. Table anecdotes
under the direction of Mrs. Cora
Mackey of Coquille livened up the
program during the dinner hour,
when roast tu rke y was served.
T he toastmistress to r the dinner
was Mrs. Genevieve (Perrin, and
two talks, "Declaration of Inde
pendence” and "W h a t Price Hon
esty,” were given by Mrs. Jeanne
Ley and M rs. Maxine Kistner, re
spectively.
Another talk, "Lexicology” was
given by L illia n Butler.
A "sniping session,” or general
evaluation of the talks that were
given, was opened to the meet
ing.
The regular business meeting
was under the direction of Mrs.
Isabel M cH en ry of Florence, re
placing Mrs. Cornelia Moore who
was unable to attend the meeting.
Mrs. M cH enry serves as secretary

Announcing the engagement of their daughter Gloria
June Robinette are Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Spalding of San
Jose, Calif. Mias Robinette will marry Keith Eldon John
son, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Johnson of Coquille. Both
young people were student« at Southern Oregon College
of Education, and Miss Robinette is attending college
there while Mr. Johnson is now in the armed forces. Both
were active with Miss Robinette being president of the
“Y” roundtable and a member of Sigma Tau, speech
honorary, while Mr. Johnson was one of the star athletes
at the school as well as being active in campus activities.
