Figures are the damdeet things.
.Since Supt. Ray Hunsaker brought
in the classes and prospective
classes of the local schools, we
can’t see how Coquille can get

i f i t is done right, right now. High
coat of having more people move
into an area. (However it makes
a better community.)

Now comes a small advertisement
we donated to the Cub Scouts last
week telling the world that Christ

Hardware corner. What happens?
Well everyone read the advertise

advertising, it’s timeliness that
pays off, plus bargains.

Approval of a bond issue fo r the
construction of a filtra tio n plant in
Coquille was voiced Tuesday at a
dinner meeting of the Coquille
Chamber of Commerce. The action
came following the city council’s
move to put the bond issue to a
vote on January 12, in view of the
city’s dire, need of an adequate
water supply.
Proposed legislation to reduce
truck load lim its was discussed be
fore the Chamber by George Burr,
who said because of long distance
hauling and advanced operation
costs load lim it reductions would
prove costly to operators in this
area. Logging organizations are
moving to make certain that prop
er information is in the hands of
authorities before such legislation
is enacted.
A log trucking safety program
now under way was also outlined
by Mr. Burr. He told of a meeting
w ith E. T. Clark, president of the
Northwest Loggers association,
which is spearheading a safety
campaign which w ill cost close to
$9000. The cost w ill be borne by
the Loggers association and log
ging industries. A moving picture
demonstrating all phases of safety
trucking is being filmed and w ill
be available to all service clubs and
organizations.
A committee appointed by the
chamber w ill work w ith the city
planning commisson in an effort to
obtain a house numbering plan for
the city. Street posts, now ready
fo r setting, w ill be put up by the
city, councilman Burr reported.
