Help Install
A new Business end Professional
Women's club was launched at
Reedsport on Tuesday evening by
members of the Coquille club and
representatives of the M yrtle
Point club.
Mrs. J. S. Barton of Coquille,
state vice president, presented .the
Reedsport-Gardiner
chib
with
their charter and gave a short his­
tory of the national B. P. W.
movement. Mrs. Helen Chase,
state membership chairman, intro­
duced the guests, and Dr. Eleanor
Gutman, ot Coquille, district ehair-
man for Southwestern Oregon, in­
stalled the officers.
Officers of the new club are
Jessie Cox, president, Theresa
Woodard, vice president, Bernice
Coatee, secretary, and Pat Bann-
ville, treasurer.
The emblem ceremony was pre­
sented by the CoquUle club lead by
Mrs. Louis Holimon.
Taking
part were Mrs. Tom Detlefsen,
Mrs. S. r. Stevens, Mrs. Eugene
Lieb, Miss Arlene Robertson, Mis«

On behalf of the CoquUle club,
Miss Arlene Robertson, past presi­
dent, presented the new club with
a myrtlewood gavel and block.

New Camera Now
On Display
The new Land Polaroid camera
that does the complete job of tak­
ing a picture A developing and
printing it in a few seconds is on
display and demonstration at the
Coquille Camera and Studio shop.
Already numerous snapshots have
been made with the camera which
is being widely heralded as a revo­
lutionary invention by scientists.
A complete picture ready to be
shown is taken from the back of
the camera in only seconds after
the shot has been made.
July 14 the McKinley Pollyanna
club met at McKinley Grange
ball! w ith the following members
present: Josie Mast, Marie Chur­
chill, Helen Mast, Olive Howard
of McKinley, Georgia Burch, and
Priscilla Mast of Dora, and Flossie
Wilson, Francis Sapp, Rosabel
Brown, Isabel Shone and Polly
Nickason of Sitkum. Helen Mast
passed out Red Cross sewing to
rome of the members.
During the meeting in the after­
noon some of the women put the
first eoat of paint on the board
for their name signs.
Pot luck dinner was enjoyed by
all.
Marie Churchill won the
attendance prize.
Helen Mast was hostess.
Friday July 15th, the McKinley
Jolly Garden club met at the home
of Mrs. Jim M eritt with the follow
ing members present: Mrs, Lee
Mast, Mrs. Clarence Chuchill,
Mrs, Milford Mast, Mrs. Thomas
Heyman, Mrs. Ben Hudson, Mrs
Henry Hall, Mrs. Nevy Heller
Mrs. Arland Hutchinson, and Mrs.
Frank Howard.. During the meet
ing they decided to have a yard
contest between the members
