Close to forty members, pros
pective members and guests at
tended the “open house” meeting
of the Coquille Business and Pro
fessional Women’s club held Mon
day evening in the Junior auditor
ium of the Community building
• An interesting program of games
and contests had been arranged by
the Legislative committee, headed
by Mrs. Georgianha Vaughan, and
the Courtesy committee, headed by
Miss Bess Maury.
Particularly
pertinent were two quiz contests
on the subject of the forthcoming
election. Winners were Mrs. J.
S Barton and Miss Inez Rover.
Two pleasing vocal solos were
rendered by Mrs. Roy Barton, ac
companied by Mrs. M. O. Hawkins.
The Hallowe'en motif was used
in the decorative scheme, and re
freshments typical of Hallowe'en
were served.
Assisting Mrs. Vaughan and
Miss Maury with the program ar
rangements were Mrs. Louis Hol-
imon, Mrs. Walter Oerding, Mrs.
J. J. Geaney, Mrs. James Brady,
Mrs. Hazel Hanna, Mrs. Loren
Simmons and Mrs. Helen Lundy,

All dubs should have a name.
This is a big help in writing news
stories and distinguishes one club
from the other in the same pro
ject. A name adds interest to
club activities and gives members
that extra pride in their organ-
izaton.
Club leaders who act as Junior
leaders are important In devel
oping a better club program. One
of the county's outstanding mem*
bers,
Dean VanLeuven,
has
branched out as a leader this
year. Betty Sell, Riverton, began
as a Junior leader last year with
a cooking and a clothing dub.
