H. Craven. Th* committee plans to set a date convenient to everyone, and to possibly hold the banquet on a Tuesday late in the month of January. Plan* call for it to be in th* Junior auditorium of the Coquille Commun ity building. Special caterer* will be called in to serve th* meal. Speakers from outside will be brought in for the evening. The Staff of the Coquille Valley Sentinel - ■ Oratorio Group To Be Permanent Urge Audience Attends Messiah Over 650 Coquille valley residents packed the available seating space at the Pioneer Methodist church Sunday evening to hear the first Coquille pre sentation of the famous “Messiah" by George Frederick Handel. The choir was directed by Elois Wilson Carlson through the difficult choruses with the solos in beautiful execution. An appreciative audience stood at the last chorus of th* Hallelujah chorus, a custom started by* King George II after the first presenta tion of this saerpd oratorio by the composer. A reception was held following the concert in the rooms of the church. Soloists were Kenneth Talley, the Rev. David Seaman. Alton Isaac Chandler died at Eu gene. Oregon, December IS, after an extended illness. Funeral services were conducted in the G-mo Funeral Home Monday, December 17, at one o’clock, with the Rev.
