Out-of-Doors Stuff Î Veterans May Borrow
For Farm Purchase
S A»-
d^4
Coos
Ver veterans with
farm backgrounds are eligible for
40-year term purchase loans under
provisions of the Bankhead-Jones
tenant eel to promote ownership of
family-type farms, announces T.
Brudos, County Farm Security Su
pervisor, Room 14, Bank Building,
Coquille.
Oregon has bean alloted
»140,000 for veteran«, and »05,52» for
farm tenants out of the congression
al appropriation of $80,000,000 for
these programs..
Farm ownership loans under the
act may be made up to $12,000 in
the case of qualified veterans, while
farm tenants are subject to restric
tion« based on the value of the aver
age farm in the county, explained
Brudoa. Applicants locate the farms
they wish to buy and file an applica
tion with the County FSA office.
Farms are appraised on the basis of
their long-time earning capacity and
the applicant's qualifications for
ownership are reviewed by the Coun
ty FSA committee of three local
farmers. If the farm is priced on
the basis of its actual value and the
applicant has the experience for suc
cessful ownership, the loan is ap
proved. Loans are repayable up to
40 years and bear three per cent in
terest on the unpaid balance. _
As the state allotment of farm own
ership will bo used wherever suitable
farms and applicants can be found,
the number of loans this county re
ceives will depend on how quickly
local veterans and tenants file their
applications, said Brudos.
Veterans who prefer to start by
renting or leasing farms and are
unable to secure necessary operating
credit are also eligible for FSA loans
to purchase livestock, machinery,
seed, feed, household goods and!
minor improvements up to $2,500.
As previously announced funds are
also available for Water Facility
Loans, though in a limited amount,
and the Water Facility Engineers will
be in Coos County the week of Sep
tember 11 to make inspections of ap
plications submitted before that time.
In view of the extremely dry year, we
am just experiencing, it might be
well for those fanners who find them
selves in nsed of this service to sub
mit their application at once.

dation of motor oil I
Oxidation attacks everything. It causes iron to nut, rub
ber to crack, clothing to fade. In motor oil, it cause« stodge
—which is not only useless as a lubricant, but Ampcrmif.
Sludge sticks to friction surfaces and prevents oil from
»
getting in where it’s needed.
So it’s good news for cars of all ages that war research
has found a way to retard oxidation. It’s New Golden Shell
Motor Oil with oxidation inhibitor.
The inhibitor, added during manufacture, keeps down
the formation of sludge, keeps Golden Shell motor oil
rich in texture and free-flowing from one drain to the
next. Protect the mileage left in your car by using New
