This Could Be
A Beautiful Spot
This la the story of a Sunday after

which I live.
And wondering by
what right we complained so stormily

But socially-minded employers go
farther than this. They feel. a re
sponsibility for the welfare of the men
md women working for them, and
act to help guard workers and their
families from the mental and physical
misery caused by these diseases, and
especially from the tragic end results,
such as insanity, blindness, or death
jvhich often occurs when such infec
tions are allowed to run their course
untreated.
Labor unions and other labor or
ganizations also feel a similar re
sponsibility for the protection of
members and their families. Some of
the most successful educational pro
grams have been carried out by such
groups.
Dr. Adolph Weinziri and Mrs.
George Moorhead are sponsored by
.he Coos County Health Department.
For the past three years, they have
carried on an intensive venereal
disease education program in the city
of Portland, with presentations to
both AFL and CIO labor unions, PTA,
service clubs, etc.
