Legion Post Met Monday Morines Need Radio Men At the regular monthly meeting of Coquille Post, No. 36, on March », the district commissioner of the Sons of the Legion reported that the char ter of the Squadron of Coquille was expected daily. The Coquille Squad ron has eleven charter memberd. The Aeronautics committee reports that the manual training class of the high school is making model planes to scale for use in the national de fense program, to enable spotters to identify the planes as they pass over. The service officer reported that Comrade Biartin Nye 1» in the Veter ans Hospital in Portland, undergoing a major operation. The Red Cross instructors’ course will be held in Coquille at the Legion Home on March 16 to 20 inclusive. The Post went on recod as not be ing willing to commit itself at this time in regards to the amending the Legion constitution so as to admit the personnel of World War No. 2 to mem.-, bership in the organization after this present scrap is over. , It is felt that it is too early in the game to make any definite decisions. C., who came so near to beating McNary six years ago, has come out in support of the republican senate leader with a' declaration that his support of the national administration’s defense program- has earned for him the right to retain his seat for another term. Democratic leaders are trying to persuade Carl C. Donaugh, United States district attorney, to enter the lists against McNary but so far Don augh has shown no inclination to give up his present job for a chance at the senatorship.
