Last Friday evening, January 16
was the installation of the Rebekahs
and the I. O. O. F. held in the lodge
rooms. The installing officeri were

district deputy
president; Clyde Clark, special dis-
trlct deputy grand master; Myrtle
Benham, Elmer Briner, grand mar-
shale; Ida Oerding, Elmer Neeley,
Effie Johnson, Ray Smith, grand sec-
retaries;Maude Greene, J. P. Beyers,
grand treasurers; Birdie Skeels,
Clarence Shoemaker, grand chaplins;
Myrtle Noah, Dee Richardson grand
guardians.

The officers were escorted to their
stations by eight girls dressed in
striking green formal« and carrying
pink carnations.
The officers installed for the year
for Mamie Rebekah, No. 20, and Co­
quille, No. S3, were:

Flowers were presented by the Es­
cort girls in tribute to Lois Stevens,
noble grand, and Edith Gruenwald,
past noble grand. A program fol­
lowed;
vocal numbers by Jack
Carroll, accompanied by Maud Wood-
yardt vocal solos by Florence Hallock;
piano solar by Jack Stevens; music
by the musicianettes, Dick, Sherman
and Marion Gregory, Jerry and
Woodrow Howell..
Following the program refresh­
ments were served in the dining room
where the long tables were set and
decorated with potted plants. While
sitting around the tables the group
enjoyed the singing of several songs.
Little Catherine Schaer led the au­
dience in singing “God Bless Amer-'
ica.”

Deputies To Help
Taxpayers With
Tax Statements
Deputies from the Internal Revenue
office in Portland will be In Coos
county, Feb. lfl to March 6 inclusive
to assist federal income tax payers
in preparing their statements which
must be in Portland by March 16.
The schedule calls for the deputies
to be in Myrtle Point Feb. 16, Co­
quille the 17th, Bandon the 18th,
Marshfield February L to 14, Febru­
ary 21 to March 3, March 7 to 16,
all dates inclusive, and North Bend
March 4 to 6 inclusive.
Deputies from the state tax com­
mission office in Salem will be in the
county early in February — at the
court house in Coquille, Feb. 6; at the
city hall in Marshfield, Feb. 7-11 in­
clusive, at the city hall in North Bend,
Feb. 12. State income tax statements
must be filed with the commission in
Salem by April 1.
