----------------- - --------- — - ’ w À Golden Wedding For The Borrows ~ A golden wedding, s«ya Mrs. Barrows, who enjoyed ben Sunc is mare thrilling than the first ding. In fact, Mrs. Barrows —M the bast thing she could wish far was the opportunity to ralebretn a «olden wedding anniversary. Local Rosicrucian Appointment Made Mr and Mrs. Barrows live near Bandon on the North Bank road. Their farm takes in part of the farm Mrs. Barrows father, Joha Hambiock owned. Not far from the BatTows home place is the spot where Mr. and Mrs. Borrows were married M pears ago. Old timers and Coes ptoneere were invited for the Barrows party. Morrison, Eugene Hamblock, who is Mrs. Barrows cousin, Mrs. Emma Drain, Mrs. Carrie Gibson of San Francisco, who is Mr. Barrows sistef-, Mrs. Annie Barrows, Mrs. C. Y I .owe, Mrs. Lester Bundy, Roy Gibson and Clyde Barrows, all of whom attended the wedding. The last three mentioned were, according to Mrs. Barrows, small children when ■she was married. The Hamblocks, Mrs. Barrows fam ily, arriyed at Port Orford in the early fifties. The Indians were still preying upon the few white settlers for it was not long, after the famous fight at Battle Boek. Mrs. Barrows* uncle, a boy of 18, was among five men who were drowned in an effort to take food to white settee marooned at the Gold Beach fort In dians finally took the handful of peo ple and hacked them in bits. *Hte mutilated bodies were buried in one grave by members of the little Fret Qtford colony.
