    Junior Women
Finger Printed
The City Police office was jammed
Wednesday evening with members of
the Junior Woman’s club. What is
more every Junior Woman present
was finger-printed. None of them
were in trouble; they were just an
swering voluntarily, the F. B. L’s
request that the residents of these
United States have their finger
prints recorded.
When the local police force had
finished with club members, the girts
adjourned to the Guild hall for a
business meeting conducted by Geor-
glanna Vaughan, president. Myrtle
Clausen was chosen to represent the
club at the Mother's Day program,
May 11. Janie Kramer was appointed
general chairman of a Rummage sale,
Ito be held soon. Members of the

LASTICS, because they are new-
con.eis to the list of materials for
human use, have to pass examina
tions and tests that metals, woods,
and other substances seldom have to
undergo. The mysterious com)x>si-
tion of plastics make* each one of
them a question mark.
Each has to prove its ability to be
a useful performer in commerce, in
dustry or other fields before it is
released from the testing laboratory.
The photograph shows a piece of
“Vinyiite" plastic—the most extra
ordinary of all the newcomers—
proving to chemists that it does not
get “tired’’ easily. In thia fatigue
test strips of the plastic are twisted,
folded, then clamped by the ends
into pairs of vise-like plates. An at
tendant throws a switch whereupon
the steel damps alternately come
together and separate. With each
