Broken Leg
A suit for 85190 against thq city of
Coquille was filed by J. B. Beding-
field last Saturday with the county
clerk for his client, Mrs. Lillian Walk­
er.
The suit is the result of a broken
right leg which it is alleged she re­
ceived about nine o'clock on the eve­
ning of Feb. 3,1940; when she stepped
in a hole in the walk leading up South
ElUott street, as she was going to her
mother’s home.
According to the complaint it was
dark there and about 25 or 30 feet
from the First and Elliott street in­
tersection, near Fred Schaeris black­
smith shop, she stepped into the hole
which it is alleged the city had care­
lessly allowed to remain in the walk.
She limits 385.50 for hospitalizetion,
398 for medical care and treatment;
*18.50 for a girl to do her housework
as the *190 in special damages asked,
and *5,000 fqr general or punitive
damages.
Whether the case will come to trial
at the February term of court which
opens here next Monday is not known
at this time. It will depend on wheth­
