Our hope is that every
moment of 1941 will be a
joyous one for you. That’s
our way of saying—
One of the nicest parties of this
season or gny season was last Sunday
afternoon when the Paulson family
held open house. Though over a
hundred friends of John E. Paulson,
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Mauney and Mias
Margaret Paulson called during the
afternoon, at no time did the com
fortably
spacious home
become
crowded.
Mr. Paulson and Fred
Hudson, each wearing a capacioua
apron, did miraculous things to and
with Tom and Jerry batter. They
turned out delectable concoctions
that would sUr envy in the heart
of a professional mixmaster. Great
bowls of delicious punch, made by
Guy Mauney,
were
conveniently
placed for those people whose tastes
do not run to Tom and Jerrys.
Margaret Paulson, attractive in a
bright red frosh of the same shade
she had used in decorating the base
ment playroom, was a gracious host
ess to the guests who drifted down to,
inspect the playroom and remain to
lounge In its comfortable chairs.
Mrs. Mauney.
who received the
guests, wore á very good-looking
black velvet tea gown. All the guests
looker splendid.
During the afternoon, Bob Feller,
of Marshfield, provided an unexpect
ed treat, when he consented to play
tlic pi,4»no. An accomplished pittnittl,
he played several solos which brought
all conversation to a halt while ev
eryone admired his skill and tech
nique. Then he drifted into soft,
pleasant melodies which formed a
gay tonal background for conversa
tion.
The whole party was a great suc
cess. Proof of its success could be
found in listening to many of the
guests as they said: “I must give a
