92 years of age and J. N. says he
never saw a woman enjoy a trip and
thrive on it like his mother did.
While in Washington they saw Julia
Leatherman, formerly in the county
clerk’s office'here. She is looking
extremely well, but says she hopes
next year to have a transfer in the
Civil Service to some point in the
west.
The Gearharts traveled 8377 miles,
topping by one hundred or so the
mileage made by County Treasurer
and Mrs. Chas. Stauff the past sum­
mer.

Married Friday
At Carson City
Faye June Nosier, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Nosier, and Herman
Floten were marriqd Friday at Car-
son City, Nevada. They are expected
to return here today from a trip to
Boylder Dam and Yellowstone Na-
tienal park. Their home will be
made on the Cunningham ranch,
owned by Mr. Floten and his sister,
Mrs. Effie Miller.
Nearly Five Feet
The Past Year
Powers Resident For
25 Years Buried
William Alfred Doak, brother of
Jay Doak of this city, who had been
, anitor of the Poyers school for the
past 25 years, passed away at a hos­
pital here last Sunday./ Funeral ser­
vices were held at Schroeder Bros.
Mortuaries here Tuesday afternoon
and interment was in the old Doak
burial plot on Bear creek.

Mr. Doak, who came here at the age
of ten, was bom in California and
was two months and two days passed
68 years of age at time of his death.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs.
Roxy Doak; three children, Oliver L.,
of Seaside, Ivan R., of Chiloquin, and
Mrs. Zetta Lyon, of Seaside; also by
a grandson, one brother, Jay Doak,
and three sisters, Mrs. Belle Barklow,
of Powers, Mrs. Sylvia Drew, of Ban­
don and Mrs. Mjntie Walton of Sa­
linas California.
The close of Coos' precipitation fis­
cal year last Saturday night found
the year’s rainfall of 58 inches to be
about 13 inches greater than it was
the previous year but eight inches less
than the average for this section.
