At the close of the program, Miss Ruth Towne led the group in singing Brahm's “Lullaby.’* The dinner was in charge of the Public Affairs and Publicity committees with Miss Ida Oerding as chairman. Members present besides those tak ing part were: Mesdames Ruth Bey ers, Naomi Crews, Martha Mulkey, Harriet Oaika, Ida Owen, Marjorie Rowland, Bertha Smith, Clara Stauff, Beulah Norton, Ethel Littler, Misses Myrtle De Long, Lotus Eaton, La Verne Knife, Ida Oerding, Edna Robi son, Inez Rover, Julia Bennett and Marguerite Simpson. Caughell and Miss Carol Young. Gordon Cunningham Now In Ninth Field Artillery Gordon L. Cunningham, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Cunningham, of this city, enlisted in the United States Army on September 20, for service with the Ninth Field Artillery, with station at Fort Lewis. Cunningham was tentatively accepted for enlist ment through the Marshfield Recruit ing office, Major Bagnall said, and was formally enlisted at Vancouver Barracks, Washington and sent to his chosen station. A native of Oregon, Cunningham was bom in Cooston and reared in Coquille.
