✓ * V 53 B. & P. W. Meet The regular monthly business meet ing of the B. & P. W. club was held Monday evening in the Guild Hall with Mrs. Margarita Brodie in the chair. The dub voted to become members of the International Feder ation of B. & P. W. dubs. The year book of the club was distributed and deserves special commendation on ac count of its attractive appearance. The club decided to hold a rum mage sale Oct. 19th through the 32nd and also to have a Xmas barrel and sell chances. October IS the club plans to have a 75c chicken dinner for the public at the Guild Hall The second district conference will be held Oct. 7 and 8 at Klamath Falls. The following are planning to attend: Mesdames Leona Bryant, Margarita Brodie, Bertha Smith, Harriet Osika, Inez Chase, Clara Boagerman, Geneva Norton, Mjsses Lois Fenn, Catherine Barker and Anita Pageler. The club was sorry to receive the resignation of Ellen Braxton, second vice presi dent. She is leaving Coquille to take a position at Walla Walla, Wash. Members present were: Mesdames Margarita Brodie, Edith Walton, Clara Bowerman, Jennie Price, Gladys Gano, Harriet Osika, Clara Stauff, Leona Bryant, Naomi Crews, Ida Owen, Inez Chase, Viola Newton, Bertha Smith, Isabel Unsoeld, Ethel Littler, Saima Caughell, Misses Ida Oerding, Inez Rover, Ellen Braxton, Catherine Barker, Anita Pageler, Ruth Towne, Myrtle Delong, Edna Robison, Lotus Eaton, Lois Fenn, Myrtle Minter, Laverne Knife, Mar guerite Simpson and a guest, Mrs. Vivalene Jackman. This is the third time Riverton has won first place so will now get permanent pos session of the silver judging cup. Individual scores showed Erwin Plaep of Riverton as high man in the contest with a total of 520 h points. Roy Rudisel of Coos River second with 475 points apd Philip Bartlett and Ernest Davenport of Myrtle Point tied for third place with 456 points. Team scores showed Riverton with a total at 1365, Myrtle Point with a total of 1243 and Coos River with a total at 1153. The Riverton judging ^team con sisting of Erwin Plaep, Ernest Kite, Keith Young and Dick Bemetz with their advisor, Carroll Rycraft are leaving Friday, October 6, for Port land where they will participate In the judging contest at the Pacific International Livestock Exposition. i * Dessert Luncheon For W. C. T. U. Last Tuesday the W. C. T. U. ladles held a 1:16 o’clock dessert luncheon a he home at Mrs. C. C. Farr in honor of Frances E. Willard. The ladies sent a congratulatory telegram to the National convention at Rochester, N. Y. 10,000 local W. C. T U's over the U. S. did likewise. The state presi dent, Mrs. Necla Buck, was among those present at the convention. Mrs. Frank Leslie conducted a dis cussion on the life of Frances E. Wil lard. This was followed by sewing and a social time. Present were: Mes dames Ernest Knops, Frank Schram, Jas. Watson, Berlyn Billings, L. E. Alexander, Frank Leslie, Geo.
