Townsend Club
After a short business session of
the Townsend club Tuesday evening
a very enjoyable program was pre­
sented. Following selections by the
Townsend orchestra little Maxine
Roth sang very sweetly and an enter­
taining duet was rendered by tiny
Louise and Katherine Clouse.

Wold followed with good violin num­
bers and several selections were
played by Pewpe and his Texas
Ranch Hands.
The pies, auctioned off by Levi
Bunch, increased the club’s finances
considerably.
Fine music for the dance which
closed the program was furnished by
Pewee and his orchestra.
The Coquille Townsend Club is
giving a potluck supper next Tues­
day, March 21, at 8:45 p. m. in the
Community Building.
Everyone
come and bring a covered dish. This
supper will be to entertain the past
officers of the club.—Press Cor.
Tfcp monthly foxbreeders’ meeting
was held Sunday at the Al Crawford
ranch at Bald Hill. A potluck dinner
was served at noon. About 20 were
in attendance.
The next meeting
will be held at the Lorin Guerin home
April 2.

Bible baseball is fun. We think it
is and we know you will, too. Last
Sunday night the north team an­
swered the most questions and, there­
fore, made the most home-runs, so
Umpire Dorothy Landaker announces
that another game will be a feature
of the Baptist Young People’s Union
meeting next Sunday at 6:30 p. m.
If you play an instrument and are
not' attending church services else­
where, why not meet with our or­
chestra at four o’clock Sunday after­
noons? We have a good time, even
though we are not celebrated musi­
cians.
You are also invited to join us at
pur Saturday night firesides in the
new church fellowship room linden -
joy an evening of games, music and
fun. Hours are from 7:30 to 10:00
p. m. and those who are young, lonely
and perhaps strangers in town, are
particularly urged to come.
On Friday evening, March 24, at
eight o’clock the B. Y. P. U. is offer­
ing the town a real treat in the form
of an evening of the readings of
James Whitcomb Riley, by Capt.
Hall, who is known throughout the
state for his enjoyable interpretations
of Riley’s Hoosier poems. A musical
program will be presented as well.
All are invited; there is no admis­
sion charge but a silver offering will
be taken for the benefit of the recre­
ation room fund. Watch for further
announcement in next week’s Sen­
tinel. ‘
Landscaping Demonstration At
Riverton Next Tuesday
“Landscaping the Home Grounds”
demonstration district meetings will
be held by the Coos county extension
service on Tuesday, March 21, at the
home of Mrs. Alton Clausen of River­
ton, and on Wednesday, March 22, at
the home of Mrs. John Reiher at
North Bayside. Men and women both
are invited to attend one of these all­
day meetings (10.30-3:00) and bring
a bag lunch and cup, according to
Julia Bennett, home demonstration
agent.
Convenience, simplicity, and beauty
are the keywords to designing well-
planned home grounds. Mrs. Eunice
Brandt, a part-time specialist in land­
scape architecture, will present prin­
ciples of analysing different types of
yards and grounds, give directiohs in
measuring, staking and laying out
changes or new plans.
Persons will have an opportunity to
plot out their own home grounds, and
Mrs. Brandt will allow time for
