SAINT ’Tis the month for the Irish and the clover and the pipe and the green to find their way into our social life for the patron saint of Ireland has for many years been a celebrated figure and has come to us from popular legend. So, it’s time to think of the Irish in us and spake and talk about the great deeds of St. Patrick in the month of March. They were Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Larkin and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ny- strom, of Monroe, Oregon. Miss June Redmond, another 'sister, was also one of the family party. Mrs. W. S. The afternoon was «pent most informally in sewing and chatting, after which refreshments were served by the hostess. Guests included: Mesdames Bryant, F. S. Emery, A. N. Gould, O. A. Ulett, Lafe Compton, M. O. Hawkins and Mrs. Jacob Grebel, of Portland. The Loyal Women's class of the Church of Christ held a noon pot luck dinner at the church with an at tendance of twenty-three. Follow ing the luncheon, the regular month ly business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Fred Schaer. Scripture was taken from John 14:1-1<? Mrs. John Widmark and Mrs. A. M. Wiley were appointed to make plans for a contest after Easter. The following ladiet had birthdays recently and drew from the birthday box: Mesdames A. N. Foley, Mary Burns, W. O. M. A. club met at the home of Mrs. Bernice Ireland Fri day evening. Sewing, knitting and chatting occupied the pleasant eve ning hours. At a late hour delicious refreshments were served by the hostess to the following: Mesdames Elynor Miller, Frances Detlefsen, LaVerne Ellingson, Lucille Ellison, Lorraine Perrott, Maxine Stevens, Ruth Dey, Ruth Clayton, Alice Mor ris, Yvonne Carl and a guest, Mrs. Margaret Dement. < One of the nicest affairs of the season was the dancing and card party given by the' social club of Beulah Chapter, No. fl, O. E. S., held last Saturday evening in the Ma sonic Temple. Over fifty couples at tended the dance, which was held in the banquet hall. It was attractive ly decorated with blue and red cello phane streamers hung from globes decorated with cellophane of the same shades and the lattice work along the aides of the hall looked lovely with various greens. The door prize was given to Harry Slack. Upstairs in the Masonic hall, there were seven tables of contract bridge, six of pinochle and several of Chinese checkers. At bridge, Mrs. Bert Fol som and Tailant Greenough won high score and Mrs. U, E. McClary and Frank Martin, second. The winners at pinochle were: Mrs. J. F. McLar rin and Lee Hand, first prizes, and Mrs. D. G. Ireland and Harold Var ney, second. At Chinese checkers, the following won prizes: Mrs. Anna Rooney, Mrs. Ida M. Dunn, Miss Bess Maury, E. G. Opperman and Clarence Tuttle. Mrs. U. E. McClary also won a door prize. Mrs. Ralph Taylor, president of the social club, was in charge of arrangement«. Punch and cookie« were served during the eve ning. After the regular meeting of Beu lah Chapter, No. 0, last Thursday evening, Mrs. Geo. W. Bryant gave a most interesting talk on her recent trip abroad, interspersed with moving pictures of the same. A social time followed, with refreshments served in the banquet hall. “ Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ulett were hosts to a few friends at their home on the Myrtle Point highway Saturday evening after the dance given by the social club of Beulah chapter. Sand wiches, cake and coffee were served. Present were: Messrs, and Mesdames Frank Thrift, T. S. Stevens, Rudy Johnson, C. A. Rletman, Ralph Tay lor, B. W. Dunn, Crews, Julius Ruble and the hosts. The Monday Night club met with Mrs. H. S.
