Oregon traffic accident summary:
Number of drivers not having
right-of-way, 9,763.
Number of drivers on wrong side
of road, 3,763.
Number of drivers cutting in, 2,747.
wrong side of the road or straddles

fender among the road hogs. Much
of the difficulty is created by persons
whose minds simply are not on their
driving.
With their attention fo­
cused on the scenery or on some in­
teresting day-dream, they permit
their cars to wander slowly from one
lane -into another, making it almost
impossible for cars behind them to
pass. ™

Fairview News Items
The Fairview home extension unit
met at the home of Mrs. H. M. Hall
on Thursday of last week and held an
all-day meeting. Miss Julia Bennett
was present and demonstrated a num­
ber of attractive, inexpensive party
dishes, of which samples were eaten
at lunch time. Du*ing..the business
meeting in the afternoon, the group
voted to pay the yearly dues to the
state council. An informal discussion
of table etiquette followed. The next
meeting will be on January 24 and
“Good Grooming” will be demon­
strat by project leaders.
Mrs. J. C. Hedden and Alice and
brother-in-law, K. O. Bernhardt, of
Marshfield, visited relatives in Fair­
view last Friday.
The home economics club of the I
CaUipg cards. 50 for «1.00
local grange held an all-day meeting
.at the hall on Wednesday of last week
and a grange meeting was held Satur­
day evening.
Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Benham visited
at Bridge last Sunday and returned
home to find the ashes of their bam,
which had burned that morning.
Cause of the blaze is not known.
Christmas programs planned by
local groups will be held next week.
Thursday evening, December 22, the
Fairview school will present its an­
nual program at the community hall.
The following evening, December
23, fin. Mildrede Waldo will be in
charge of a program at the Riverside
school and Sunday evening, December
23, the Fairview Sunday school will
give an evening of Christmas joy.
