Red Devils Win From Tigers U was no more than a walk for the Coquille High Red Devils last Friday ifternoon when Bandon's fighting Tiger.) went down to defeat before the onslaught of the locals, 33 to 6 Bandon has been the easy mark up to date, but the determined, small footballists of the town of fires make up for what they lack in size and in ability to match stronger opponents in prowess by the determination to fight hard and play to learn. Once when the Tigers got started in the third quarter they went down the field to score after six first downs had carried the ball seventy-two yards to the pay sod. It was Mack Fogel, left halfback, ball-carrying ace, who lugged the ball for the Ti gers on this drive against a combined first and second team of Red Devils. Three times Coquille scored in the first half, and the red and white was near another six points when the in termission Interrupted. Allen Bailey, Ken La Branch, and Dee Krantz were responsible for the touchdowns, each back going through the Bandon de fense unrelentingly. Bailey and La Branch added the extra points. ^he touchdown by Bailey was on a beautiful cut back through tackle, after which he reversed his field be hind the scrimmage line and went to the goal line by eluding many eager hands. La Branch made his points by raging through the line, while, Krantz scurried around his own right end to sprint goalward. Bandon's brilliant attack in the third qaurter made the score, 20 to 6, but soon after this the Red Devils were again tearing away for long1 gains. It was, however, fumbles' which gave the red and white breaks which lead directly to the touch downs. * The first fumble occurred on the Bandon eighteen, Ernie Detlefsen ’ grabbing the pigskin at this point from where La Branch rammed over with Bailey again adding the point. Right after the kickoff the other fumble was recovered on the Ban don twenty by Lynn Perrott. reserve end. Bailey then circled end for the final points. It was a one-sided fray, but made interesting by the determination of the hopelessly downtrodden Tigers. They at least gained plaudits from the crowd.
