I I W ------ PACHI * I Club Notes and Other Social Activities k The New Red & White One of the successful and lovely ■ parties of the season was that given by the Job’s Daughters, under the su pervision of the council of the organ ization, last Wednesday evening at the Masonic hall. The dinner dessert was served at the small tables, attrac tive with potted petunia bloom, which combined with the hawthome and rosebuds used about the room presented a colorful and pretty scene. Following, dessert, various, card james, including contract bridge, pe- dro, monopoly, and “500” were played. The beautiful quilt offered js a door prize was awarded to Ralph Taylor. Luckey L. Bonney received the inlaid checkerboard, also a door prize, made by Ernest Purvance. Other prize winners were Geo. H. Chaney and Mrs. Orvin Gant, for contract; Clyde E. Niles for pedror Harold Varney for “500.” On Monday evening of next week, the parents of Job’s Daughters are being entertained with a six o’clock banquet at thtj hall, which will be fol lowed by a splendid program up stairs after their regular session. No advertising of any kind will be permitted in Fri day’s parade. • Any kind of advertising permitted in Saturday parade except on decorated floats. Rules for decorated floats: ENTRIES. Any float properly decorated in accordance with the following rules is eligible for entry. SIZE. Floats must not exceed 12 feet in width and 15 feet in height.. ADVERTISING. No objectionable advertising such as banners, signs, etc,, will be permitted on the decorated floats. The name of the city, firm or corporation, trade mark, product, club or society may be used if worked out artistically in floral design. Artificial flowers permitted. DECORATIONS. Flags, bunting and banners. No or dinary bunting will be permitted on decorated floats. Ban ners of artistic merit may be permitted if approved by the parade committee. National flags when used with flowers are permitted. Ribbons: Tuile, chiffon and similar materi als may be used profusely in combination with flowers to secure an artistic effect. FLOWERS. Any kind of flowers, shrubbery or greens, wiki or cultivated, may be used. Any individual, firm or organization can compete for prizes offered for oldest automobiles. Chis Sale or two-men team contest: Winners must erect and complete burilding according to specifications in short est time. All materials furnished and cut to exact size. Each team to be given their building when completed. Any one can enter this contest. The world’s log-bucking championship conducted by the Pacific Logging Congress offers free trip for winner and his flier to annual meeting at the Congress in Eureka, Cal ifornia, October 7-10 to compete with California, Washing ton, and British Columbia and with Paul Searls, present champion of the worfd.
