The band will also parti cipate in the opening feature of the evening, as will the orchestra of eight pieces, conducted by Don Estes, as a prelude for the violin numbers by Miss Muriel Dae and four or five of her pupils. Grogg for the construction of a 50x100 feet, single story building on her lot be tween the W. O. W. and Laird build ings. The E. V. Construction is to start just as soon as the old Cow Bell Dairy frame building is removed. Mrs. Hersey made a deal with Mrs. Mabie Laird while here to use the west wall of the brick building as a party wall. Fire Wednesday Evening The Ellis Kelley home on Ninth street, between Heath and Coulter, was the scene of 1 a fire about eight o’clock Wednesday evening, the cause of which is a mystery. Most of the contents were destroyed, but the building still stands. When Ellis went to the hospital last week after being injured at the mill, his daughter, Videlle, went to the Jno. Aasen home and his son, Rex, was living at the Couch place not far away. The latter had been at the house about four o'clock and there was no evidence of fire there at that time. Alva Nosier Has. A LETTER FROM HOME Good Majority for Better Lights) Choral Club Concert Postponed The charter amendment whose purpose was to permit property own ers in the business section to provide a better system of street lighting—at their own expense—was adopted by a majority ot 83 at Monday's special election. The vote was 112 for to 49 against. The 181 votes cast is just about 12 per cent of the number who were entitled to vote, but as is usual in special elections, where the per sonal element does not enter in, the average voter did not take the trouble to cast a ballot. Observance of Music Week in Co quille with a concert by the Choral Club has been of necesisty postponed for a couple of weeks. Because of the meetings now in progress at the Pioneer church the club's program will be given on Tuesday, May 19. Music Week has been observed here for the past few years and al ways in a most befitting manner and I there will be a few musical programs i next week, one by the schools and by r recitals next Saturday afternoon and | evening.
