H. Pearce, is requesting suggestions on the 1936 Fair premium lists. Any constructive criticisms as to items, which could profitably be included In the prise lists or as to those listed in former years, which could as well be deleted, will be greatly appreciated by the board, who are now compiling this year’s premium list. In order to make the Fair, which is to be held September 16, 17, 16 and 19. of even more benefit to the coun ty, the board are asking the public to hcip them revise their premium list to include any exhibits which may prove to be instructive and educa tional, and which will tend to pro mote the breeding of better livestock and encourage Coos countians in de veloping better produce and further proficiency in the household arts. These suggestions must be In on or before Friday, April 10. The board calls attention to the fact, however, that the purpose of the Fair is, of course, to stimulate whole some rivalry in county produce and by no means to exhibit freak live stock or produce. Jfot only are the patrons of the Fair requested to help with their sugges tions, but all those who have charge of the arrangements and judging of the'various exhibits, but in order to net on these suggestions they must be received by the above date. Any individuals, who are figuring on giving any special prizes at the Fair, are- requested to let the Fair board know immediately, so that mention of it can be made in the Fair premium list. Sempert returned home from a sev eral days’ visit in Portland. Mrs. Roy Ellis and two children, Donald and Arlene, left the first of the week for a month's visit in Seat- •le at the home of Mrs. Ellis’ mother. G.-L. McRay returned home from a week’s business trip to Portalnd. Walter Sykes returned home the first of the week from a several days’ visit in Marshfield Mr. and Mrs. Ferris McRay return ed to their home at Corvallis after spending the week-end at the G. L. McRay home. Mrs. Raleigh Greene returned home the last of the week from a •zeek’s visit with friends in Portland. Rev. F. H. Barr returned home last week from a trip to Chicago. Word has been received here by relatives of the arrival of a baby boy ‘o Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Sperry, of Glendale, Oregon. This is their first child. Mrs. J. W. Bever, of Myrtle Point, grandmother of the child, is helping care for them. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Breuer and fam ily drove to Port Orford Sunday to view the shipweck and on their way, home visited relatives in Bandon. Mr. and Mrs. Herman EcKmeyer arrived from Berkeley» California, the last of the week and will make their I home at the P. W. Laird home for a few months. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Barker and fam- ily, of Glendale, Oregon, spent Sun day and Monday in Myrtle Point. Members and friends of the Pres byterian Church enjoyed a potluck supper in the social parlors of the church Sunday evening. At this time officers of the church were elected. Miss Marguerite Laird, of Salem, spent the week-end at the P. w. • Laird home. Mrs. Maybelle Hughes, of Los An geles, has rented rooms in the Carver apartments and will make Myrtle °oint her home for a few months. Clifford Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Chase has spinal meningitis. The Junior High and grade schools ’iave been closed and all precautions have been taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Miss Elizabeth Dement arrived ome Monday from Portland and will pend her vacation in Myrtle Point, »he is taking nurses* training at a ■’ortland hospital. Glade and Donna Jane, left Friday 'or Drain to visit Mr. and Mrs. Tom Krewson of that city. Mrs. Ernest Krewson and Mrs. Tom Krewson are sisters and the men are brothers. They also visited Mrs. Claude Patch- en, a sister, in Drain, and Mrs. Fred McClure, another sister in Marsh field, and returned home late Sunday evening.
