Funeral services were held at elev
en o’clock Thursday morning from
Schroeder Funeral Home in Myrtle
Point for Mrs. Emma Brode, of
Bridge, who passed away at Mast
hospital in this city Tuesday, March
31, 1936. Rev. W. C. Cronk. Metho-,
dist pastor, conducted the last rites,
and the interment services, which
were held at Norway cemetery.
Mrs. Brode entered the hospital
Monday night to undergo an abdom-'
Inal operation Tuesday morning.
Surgeons discovered on the operat-
ing table that she was suffering from
a cancer.
After the operation she
rallied from the anesthetic but death
came at three o’clock that afternoon. I
She was born at Elkader, Iowa,
October 23, 1883. Her father was a
native of Ohio and her mother was
Swiss. In addition to her widower,
Daniel S. Brode, several sisters and
brothers survive here and three
daughters, Mrs. Neva M. Hiestand, of
Myrtle Point, Mrs. Eileen Evernden, of
Bancroft, and Mrs. Marvel Motsch-
man, of Bridge.—Myrtle Point Herald
