A Deadmond, who has been ill since Monday of last week is unimproved. Her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Thurman, of Phoenix, Oregon, near Medford, was sent word of her mother’s illnes and will arrive some time this week. The re mainder of the assembly was spent in singing patriotic selections. The 8X held a Home Room party in the library Friday after school. The program was handled by ■ room committee. Those who lost in a re cent ticket drive presented the pro gram. The Home Rooms are all organized with officers and committees. Some very instructive as well as interesting programs and activities are being presented. The Journalism Club has started a scrap book. They are including sam ples of their own writings as well as samples from the newspapers. They plan to study all types of news writ ings. The materials for the Aviation Club have arrived. Plans are under way to begin construction work on planes immediately. The Sewing Club has been organ ized as a 4-H Club. The membership ncludes over 20 girls who have be gun their projects. Other members of this commit tee include Ben Monson, Chas. McCulloch, Gus Witt, Geo. Landrith, Joe Delsman, Leonard Rood, Hillis Perkins, Alton Clausen, Joe Nilsen, Ed. Detlefsen, Earl Cross, Martin Schmidt, Steve Reed, Robert Iliff, Floyd Bennett, Chas. Selbig. Ellis Dement, who represents live stock interests in the Agricultural Council, was named chairman of the livestock committee, which will hold its first meeting November 26, at 1:30 p. m. The members of this commit tee consist of the following: Albert Powers, Robert Carmen, Roy Garrett, Frank Van Leuven, Henry Hess, D. F. Thompson; Jas. G. Wilson, Ben Moo maw, J. W. Ruble, W. V. Glaisyer and J. H. Bennett. George Hampton was named chair man of the farm crops committee, which will hold its first meeting November 22, at 1:30 p. m. Members included in this committee are J. L. Smith, J. E. Ford, Rolf Hongell, Chas. Saling, Chas. Holverstott, Olaf Aasen, J. D. Carl, Henry Brownson, Ervin Peterson, Preston Monson. Abe Grossen, R. W. Shaad. ' The chairman of the soil manage ment committee, is Ray Deadmond. This committee will hold its first neeting at a date yet to be an nounced. The committee consists of lalph Christensen, Ernest Clausen, Henry Hervey, Hutton O'Conner, Paris Ward, Lee Evans, C. B. Green- nugh and Floyd McDonald. Henry George was selected chair man of the horticulture committee. This committee will hold its first meeting at 1:30 p. m. on Novmember 35. Members of this committee are C. M. Nelson, Levi Bunch, A. T. Mor ison, Mrs. Ethel Kranick, Reuben Lyons, A. M. Cooper, Geo. W. Taylor. The farm economics committee has is chairman Adam Donaldson, Jr. This committee will hold its first meeting at 1:30 p. m. on November '7. This committee includes Alton Kay. E. J. Tilly, Jesse Clinton, E. D. Webb, R. H. Lawhorn, J. E. Norton. J. Mullen, L. W. Patton and John Donaldson.
