(Frank) Bates, of Bandon, was an event of Thanksgiving day and the impressive ceremony which united this popular couple took place at the Ray Book ard home in Myrtle Point in the pres ence of only a few close friends of Rev. The groom is an employee of the Coos Bay Lumber company and has been working in the Eden Ridge camp of this concern all summer. He is a son of Mrs. Mary Bates, of Bandon, and a broth er of Miss Iva Bates, chief operator of the Coquille exchange. He was raised and educated in Bandon. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mead, of Dora, and graduated from the Myrtle Point high school with the class of 1924.
