Corn-Hog Control Meeting
Member« of community committees
if the Coot and Curry County Corn
log Control association met in the
,-ounty agent's office Monday at the
rail of W. E. Cross, president of the
>rganlzation, and listened to an ex-
■lanation of the present status of the
om-hog reduction program.
Contracts of local producers with
tupporting evidence were sent to the
State Board of Review for considera -
ion some time ago by the local com
mittee. Thè contracts were just re-
urned with the county quota given
md it was for the purpose cf ex-
ilaining developments up to this
ime in the program that the meet
ing of committeemen was called.
Because of the refusal of the Ore-
ion officials to accept the allotment
iffered by the corn-hog section be
cause it was felt to be unjust to pro
ducers, all contracts with their sup
porting evidence have been consid
ered by the state committee.
Tl>e com-hog allotment committee
for Coos and Curry counties, consist
ing of W. E. Cross of Coquille, Ben
Monson of Lakeside, and Ed Law
rence of Pistol River, will be in ses
sion
immediately following this
meeting and will complete the allot
ment for each of the producers’ con
tracts. These contracts will then be
presented to each participant for his
final signature at meetings to be
held during the latter part of the
week. Each producer will receive a
circular mentioning the time and
place of the meeting, also listing his
hog quota, the number of hogs he
can produce during 1934 under the
contract, and the total of his benefit
payments if the contract is signed.
