Bryant Cottage Nearly Finished Arrivals at County Jail Three couples went down with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Bryant Wednesday evening, and helped them try out that magnificent fireplace which Geo. T. Cook has just completed at their sea shore cottage. Cook says it is the second largest fireplace he ever built and it is a handsome affair with its outside covering with beach rock of the face and rear of the fireplace as well as the 30 to 40 feet from the base to the top of the chimney. The hearth with its flat stones and color ed concrete filling is not the least f its attractions. The cottage will be completed in two or three weeks, not much remain ing to do except finish covering the outside walls with shakes, laying the flooring and installing the windows. Thirty-five long piling, driven to hardpan or rock, prevents any possi bility of slipping unless there could be a cataclysmic upheaval of the Pa cific shore line. One of the pleasing features of the cottage's appearance is the hit and miss laying of the shingles on the steep roof, and the shakes, which will be left to weather, without any pro tective covering, will grow more beau tiful silver gray as time goes on. The Bryants are going to have as comfortable and fine-looking a cot tage as can be found along the Ore gon coast and they are already talk ing of making it their year-round home when George retiree from the logging business. Admissions to the county jail thia week were as follow«: Donald Wi'aon, fined $60 by Justice of the Peace W. B. Haynes at Bandon, for having deer meat in hia posses sion. The arraat was made by State Police Cornell. R. L. ¡Foster, Lester Smith and Dave Davis, taken before Justice Bolt at Marshfield on a larceny charge, were released Monday after having posted $100 bond* each. Ernest Clark, for being drunk on the streets of North Bend, was given 50 days in jail to thoroughly sober up.
