In the eventful seventh hard hit ting was clearly responsible for rune. Thompson, as first up, singled. Moran sent him on to third with a one-base blow, and immediately stole second. Marsden rattled off a triple to send in both Thompson and Moran, and w-ts scored himself when Fischer doubled. In between, Bailey had grounded out and after Fischer’s blow Stewart also bounded out and Kolstad whiffed to rnd the canto. Eagle Couldn’t Lift Deer One of the strangest eights wit nessed among the wild life of Curry county recently was related by Jim Miller who has a place about fifteen miles up the river from Gold Beach, says the Curry County Reporter. Miller was going through the forest when he came upon a large eagle at tempting to carry off a fair size deer. The big bird had a wing spread esti mated to be nearly nine feet, and when he attempted to rise with the deer he could get two feet off the ground at a time but was unable t > lift the animal’s entire weight. Miller scared off the eagle and the deer went on its way badly scratched up by the bird’« talons. Camp Fire Girls Notes A-O-Wa Ki Ya, our Campfire group, took our first long hike Tuesday.
