FRIDAY, JUNE 15. 1M4. «RB99SBBSBK9R—!■——— SOCIAL NOTES One of the outstanding and delight ful social events of the week was the afternoon tea given Tuesday by Mrs. Maynard Bond at the home of Mrs. J. E. Norton. Mrs. J. Oughton, of 4 algary, Alberta, Canada, siater-in- 'aw Mrs. Bond, was the gue. t -f honor. The guests were received in the home where a program was en joyed. Mrs. P. W. Walker delighted the guests with two vocal solos, ac companied at the piano by Mr». Maud Woodyard. Twi piano selections were played by Mrs. Woodyard in her usual accomplk-hed manner. After the pro gram the guests were conducted to the beautiful lawn, where tea was served. The rambler roses covering the lattice enclosure formed an artis tic background for the daintily ap pointed tea tables. Bouquets of white field daieiee on the plaid covered tables completed the color scheme of the setting. Mrs. W. H. Bond poured and Mins Beverly Jean Norton assist ed with the serving. Mrs. J. E. The wedding of Charles Haglund, of Coquille, and Wilds Held, of Port land, took place at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Bertha Held, in that city last Sunday. Mr. Haglund is employed by Swift and Company at their plant in Coquille. For the past year Miss Held has been the sixth grade teacher in the Harding school in Marshfield. After a week’s trip up the coast the couple plan to return to Coquille where they will be at home in the Nosier Apartments. Mrs. Kenneth Ki turner entertained her contract club Tuesday evening at her heute. Guewts present were Mea- damen Geo. Anderson, E. A. U. Met Friday “picked up” by the University of Tours, at the Multnomah Hotel in Portland on June 19 and will leave Louisiana homeward bound on Aug ust 19. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson will be re membered by their Coon county friends ss being the first married couple in the state cf Oregon to com plete an uninterrupted college course together.
