M. O. Hawkins. The beautiful weather of last Thursday made it possible for the ladle« to spend much of the afternoon sitting out-of-doors on the lawn. Mrs. E. Purvance was chairman of the program and Mrs. C. L. 'Ward led a very interesting devotional service. Missionary topic» on "Schools in Brasil” were given by Mesdames Ken nett Lawrence, J. W. Sayre. Julius Ruble, R. B. Rogers and Vernon Smith. Vocal solos were enjoyed, giv en by Laura Emily Ruble, Patricia Yarbrough and Geraldine Oerding. Mm. Lois Oerding presented a gift to Mr». Carrier from the missionary society ladies who will miss her greatly in their church work as well as other activities where she has tak en a prominent part. After the party adjourned to the ■ 4 house. Mm. Carrier sang a beautiful solo of appreciation to her many friends and Miss Margaret Purvance entertained with two solos while re- freshments were being served by the hostesses, Mesdamro M. 0. Gasner, of Broadbent Also present were little Kenneth Ouaic, Beverly Beck, Patricia Mae and Lewis Gibba and Mrs. Bart Gasner.* School Play at Riverton "The Man in the Moon,” a three-act comedy m to be presented in the Riv erton Gymnasium-on Friday, May 4th, at 8:00 p. m., by members of the Riv erton Student Body. The cast is made up of Lubert Bernets, Earl Edgmon, Jack Auer, Bob Smith, Lloyd Hunt, Louis Sell, Eleanor Heilman, Marie Dye, Evelyn Berry, Harriet Daniel- •on, Ileen Harris, Evelyn and Har riet Miller. Mr. Beck has been direct ing the play and it promises one of the best evening’s entertainments at the school this year. It is full of good laughs, from the time the curtain rises to the 4 m ) ward. < Those high nehool student* on the honor roll with no grade below a “2” are: Marie Dye, Eleanor Heilman, Evelyn Miller and Ileen Harris. Those with no grade below a “8” are: Bar- nice Bar rows, Esther Watson, Har riet Miller, Cleo Bush, Hohn Nulf, Genevieve Haga, Evelyn Berry, John Heilman, Harry Hull, Qari Eekholm, Howard Schroeder, .Lubert Bernets and Kenneth La Plante. The results of the grade Track meet at Bandon last Saturday was: (Bandon won 14414 points; Riverton 1-4 points; Port Orford MM point*; and Randolph 7 point*. Professor Jones, economies in structor at the Willamette University at Salem, addressed the high school here Tuesday forenoon.
