Members pnd friends from Winchester Bsy, Roseburg, Ban don, Sumner, Powers, North Bend, Marshfield, Coquille and Myrtle Point enjoyed a potluck dinner at noon. Services were held throughout the day. Mrs. C. Wilson returned to her home at Axalie. after a short visit at the home of her mother, Mre. Katie Arnold. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Merle Kenyon early Sunday morning at the Mast hospital. The lad haa been named Richard and is their fourth child. A «surprise party was given Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Lemon Friday evs- ning at their home by members of the Royal Neighbors. The evening was spent playing bridge and whist, after which light refreshments were served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Walter 'Huff mot with a painful ac cident in the M. J. Morrison camp one day last week, breaking a bone in his foot. Mrs. Caroline Train and her daugh ter, Mre. A. M. Cooper, took a trailer load of lettuce to Marshfield Mon- day. A surprise miscellaneous shower was given Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moore, newlyweds, Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Baer. Mr. Moore and Mr. Baer left Tuesday for Fossil, Oregon, where they are employed in a OOC camp. Mrs. Whiter Huff entertained the Octet club Thursday. They spent the day quilting. A lovely lunch was served at noon. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bartlett and two children and James Bartlett left Monday for Oaks, North Dakota, called there by the serious illness of their father. Mr. and Mre. E. C. Barker return ed home the last of the week from Fresno, California, where they were called by the illness of their daughter, Grace, who has suffered a nervous breakdown. At present she is in the Burnette Hospital but plans to come home for a rest as soon as she is able to leave the hospital. • Mies Agnes Johnson and Mrs. Gerty returned to their home at Tenmile after spending the week-end nt the Walter Laird home. Mr. and Mm. Alva Crawford re turned to their home in San Fran cisco after a visit with friends and relatives. The Woman’s Club presented a four-act comedy. “The Attorney for the Defense,” at the high school au ditorium Monday evening. The pro logue numbers were played by the Myrtle Point sehooi bind.
