Mr. and Mm. Tom Krewson and family, of Drain, Oregon, visited among relatives in the valley from Friday until Sunday. Julius Benham, Ivan and Kenneth Laird left Monday on a few days’ hunting trip out in the Bend country. They all have high hopes of returning with big game. Mrs. Orin Kirk and John and Rich ard Kirk returned Monday night af ter attending a convention at Eugene. James Crowley who is employed at the Bryant Logging camp near Powers spent the week-end at his home here. Mr. and Mrs.. Albert Christensen and daughter, Christina, Mm. P. A. Alford, Mr. and Mm. Elwin Alford were Coquille callers Saturday. Miss Hazel Taylor left Sunday for Myrtle Point, where she will stay dur ing the winter at the Jeese Laird home and attend high school. Miss Eloise Crowley was honored Monday evening with a surprise fare well party. Miss Crowley will leave Sunday for Walla Walla, Washington, where she will attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crowley, of Junction City, arrived Tuesday eve ning at the Perley Crowley home for a few days' visit. Lila Mae Laird, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Laird, fell while playing and it was feared she had fractured her skull. This proved in correct, however, and she is now feel ing al) right again. John Kirk left Tuesday morning with a couple of friends for Odell Lake. While on this trip they plan to see Crater Lake. Jake Bohlander and Lester Mayse have been busy filling silo at their places this week. Miss Curtiss has gone to Pacific Col lege in Newberg and Miss Clayton to Myrtle Point where she is making her home with Mrs. Sarah Williams, while attending M. P. U. H. S., this being her senior year. After playing games for a while, watermelon and home made cookies were served.
