poor lawyer to the front as a subject
for national consideration.
Because of- the high order of their
calling, lawyers have a right to ex
pect and demand the confidence of the
people they serve, and Mr. Imipell’a
statement was that a lawyer as a
lawyer was more to be trusted than
a man in any other profession. "Bring
the public to realize that the lawyer
gives hdnest service” was his conclu
sion.
At the close of his remarks Mr.
Immell was made an Jtohorary mem
ber of the Coos County Bar Associa
tion.
Othef speakers called upon by the-
toastmaster responded with short
talks and it was eleven o’clock when
a most interesting session of the bar
association, was closed.
Those in attendance were Jas. Wat

Next Week at the Liberty
The Missing
Heiress
.Laurel and Hardy will be seen in
' their latest feature-length comedy,
“Pack Up Your Troubles,” ..«t the
Liberty Theatre this Friday and Sat
urday evenings.
The popular comedians portray en
tirely new characterization«.
As a
couple of vagrants they are kidded
into joining the army, and when once
in olive drab they find themselves in
volved in numercAas predicament«.
Ernst Lubitsch'q “Trouble in Para
dise,” which is said to establish an en
tirely new technique for motion pic
tures, will open at the Liberty Sun
day for three day«.
With easy good humor, the picture
first show« the establishment of busi-
hess, social and emotional rapport be
tween Miriam Hopkins and Herbert
Marshall, two super-super crooks who'
prey ,in «uave fashion upon European
society. Then it follow« them through
their most exciting adventure—the
bamboozling of Miss Francis, svelte
Frenchwoman who i possesses more
money than the Bank of Franee.
It is in this adventure that Marshall
is almost tempted to turn from paths
of wickedness into respectability, for
his victim displays charm« to which
he is easily susceptible.
One of the most lavish productions
of a theme never before set forth on
the screen, will be presented to the
moving-going public, “The Night
Mayor,” which dramatizes an unusual
extremely interesting portrayal of
what the night life of a high public
official might be like, featuring Lee
Tracy, who endeared himself to
theatre audiences in the long run of
“Broadway.” It will be shown at the
Liberty next Wednesday and Thurs
day, pal nights.
