THK COQUILLE MYRTLE POINT ITEMS Mrs. M. Earl Witeon, of Coquffle, visited friend* in Myrtle Point last Friday evening. Dr. L. L Sumerlin attended the den tal convention in Marshfield Friday evening and Saturday. Miss Loss Parry, of Lee, ia visiting this week st the home of her uncle, James Parry, and family. Miss Pearl Dodeie left Friday for her home in Albany, where she will epend the holidays with her parents. Mias Mildred Russell is aubatitutigg for her until the Christmas vacation. Mrs. C. C. Pratt and daughter, Miss Irene Pratt, of Seattle, Waahington, are visiting at the L. P. Linn home. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Whittington «nd children have moved to Read Island, British Columbia, where Mr. Whitington has employment. Ray Waterman returned to his home at Bancroft after a short visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Young. , Mrs. Bud Emery entertained, the O. N. O. elub at her home Friday eve ning. Bridge was enjoyed, after which which dainty refreshments were served to the following: Mesdames Karl Kaufman, Al Neideigh, Henry Rosslow, E. C. Roberts, Ellie Dement, Flentge Perkins and Ralph Kring.' Mrs. Ralph Gilkeson, of Dement Creek, visited Wednesday at the home of her sister, Mrs. R. F. Garrett. # W. J. IfcClement, of Los Angeles, has purchased the 25-acre Pointer place at Broadbent. * The deal vfas made by E. C. Roberts. Mrs. James Stovall, of Roseburg, arrived Thursday to be with her ( father, C. E. Houser, who has been bedfast since June. The Junior play, “Her Step Fath er,” was given in the high school au ditorium Friday evening before a large audience. The play was full of! laughs from start to finish and was much enjoyed by those attending. The Myrtle Point fire department and the Woman’s club are busy fill ing Christmas baskets for the needy families of this vicinity. Any dona tions of clothing or food will be great ly appreciated. A basket ball game wa* played Wednesday afternoon between Myr tle Point and Bridge, the score re- , suiting 19 to 14 in favor of the local tires on are dangerous roads!
