The community was. represented by a very attractive booth which was arranged by the Home Economics Committee of the Grange, of which Mrs. Rqtliffe Law home ia chairman, instead of by the Ladies’ Chib aa formerly. The Mc Kinley 4-H Clubs also put on a booth, under the management of Mrs. Lyman King. Mrs. King deserves much cred it for her painstaking work in ar ranging the booth and also as club learod the past year. Our teacher, Alice Mast, gave a Hallowe’en party for the school and neighborhood youhg people at the hall on Monday night The usual Halo- we'en games were played and re freshments served, making a happy evening for all. Junior Tillman of Coquille spent the week-end at the Holmstrom farm. Mrs. Tillman, Mre. Ines Chase, Donald Tillman and Evelyn Gano also visited there Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Brown have moved into their own little home near the McKinley bridge. Mrs. Brown’s sister, Ollie Ellen Loshbaugh, who has been staying with them and attending high school has gone to Coquille to be with her mother there. Mm. H. L. Hanson continues to be quite ill at her home. Mre. Mulkey, County Schoo) Super intendent, visiter the McKinley school last Monday. The school children, under the di rection of the teacher, Mira Mast, re cently organized, for thia year’s work, a cooking club, sewing club and calf ad poultry club. Mrs. Lyman King is leader of the poultry club which was the lent organized. Mrs. Jeanie Lawhome is loader of the cooking dub. Two meetings have been held, and both loader and members are full of enthusiasm for the work. i Mrs. Nellie Brown and eon Ted spent Sunday afternoon at the Sol ing home. Mrs. H, L. Hanson recently received from R. A. Easton, so well known to Sentinel reader«, a card of sympathy for her illnera. He ia, himself, ser iously crippled, having recently suf fered a stroke of paralysis, but states that he is slowly improving. On the evening of November 1 Mrs, Blanche Mast gave a little party for her daughter, Ardyee, in celebration of her birthday, and the big cake had seven candles on ft. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Lott enjoyed an over night visit last week with their daughter, Mre. Afcert Reed, and family, at Reedsport. The girls of the 4-H cooking and sewing clulba were delightfully enter tained Friday afternoon at the borne of their leader, Mrs. Harold J. Lae- well. The rooms were gaily adorned with Hallowe’en decorations and the I games were in keeping with the sea son.
